We are delighted that Hitachi Rail Europe has donated the mock up of the Class 800/801 cab to the National Railway Museum in York. DCA designed and built this cab mock up together with a 30m mock up of the 1st and Standard Class environments as part of our development of the passenger and driver interiors for this train.
The mock up is now on display alongside Hitachi’s own Shinkansen bullet train and an example of the Intercity 125 High Speed Train (HST) which the Class 800/801 trains will be replacing from 2017 onwards on the East Coast and Great Western main lines.
We hope that the public will enjoy this chance to get a driver’s view of these new trains.
