New high precision surface texture measurement instrument

AMETEK Taylor Hobson is an ultra-precision technology company operating at the highest levels of accuracy within the field of surface and form metrology.  The new S-Series measures surface roughness of components to micrometer accuracy, allowing users to inspect and characterise surface finishes.

The product has been carefully developed to withstand the rigours of the often rugged and aggressive industrial environments within which this equipment needs to deliver high precision surface texture measurements.  To achieve this DCA developed a strong new co-moulded casework design incorporating AMETEK Taylor Hobson’s robust metrology frame.  We also incorporated a new large format colour touch screen display, dramatically improving the User Interface on the new instrument.

The casework was designed to reflect the core brand values established by the Visual Brand Language guideline DCA had previously generated for the complete range of AMETEK Taylor Hobson measurement equipment, covering large format laboratory equipment through to portable devices like the S-Series.  This helped to deliver an industry focussed solution that effectively asserts the values of AMETEK Taylor Hobson’s brand and directly links the S-Series to the higher end ultra-precision equipment on which AMETEK Taylor Hobson’s long standing reputation for excellence is established.
