DCA and GSK Global Design Management Team have won one of this year’s prestigious red dot awards for the recently launched Aquafresh Milk Teether. This year the prestigious red dot award received the highest number of entries with 4,815 from 53 countries.
Aquafresh’s brand new Milk Teether is a unique multi-functional teether, which brings Aquafresh’s dental health credentials to the category’s youngest initiates. The multi-zone teething sections have been designed to help reach different areas of the baby’s mouth. It has been specially designed in collaboration with Paediatric Dentists to help soothe and clean gums and newly emerging teeth throughout the teething process, whilst having many different tactile areas to explore, each providing unique benefits to baby’s mouth.
Andrew Barraclough VP of Global design at GSK Consumer healthcare says “I am thrilled that our team has won this prestigious design award, which recognises the creation of an outstanding consumer led product innovation. Our approach to working collaboratively with our global design partners has delivered an exceptional quality product through the care given to apply elegant science to every detail of the design”.
The overall form combines a variety of softer forms and edges, with soft materials, in contrast with some more angular, harder materials. This gives the child the opportunity to explore a large range of sensory experiences all on one device. As you look at the different sections of the teether, each feature allows for a different sensory experience which is also communicated through surface details, such as ridges and bumps in addition to the form. These bumps and ridges also help provide cleaning and soothing to these young gums and emerging teeth at the front and back of the mouth.
